Subject: Changing tranfer cases IP: Logged
Message: I am swapping a transmission in a 94 4wd Dakota with another from a 94. The transfer case on one seems better than the one that is now mated to the tranny I'm going to put in. Can I safely switch transfer cases from one to the other. or are they matched to the transmission?

we just put a A518 46RH and transfer case into
a 1988 dak with a V6 and it works perfectly
This poor guy 4 transfer cases and 3 tranmissions
now he has a very strong set up with the HD
transfer case if he blows this one I don't
know he don't beat the truck last trans came
from northern trans out of mich and only lasted
just over a year no one around this area gets
any trans or cases from them anymore it was
bought out and they do some very shotty work
cases and trans rebuilt that don't work from
day 1 most leak from day one just unreal the
crap they send out
