Subject: larry removing the divider?
IP: Logged

Message:
when i remove the divider in my intake on 239 92 motor should i plug the egr valve?
doesnt that make the tb mounting point an oval?
thanks already for the advice on cutting the runner down to 14 inches
and gasket matching the tb hole for my v8 tb and
gasket matching the runner holes?
i just want to make sure i understand correctly to remove the whole center out of the intake manifold?

Some intakes had a divider some didn't.
The divider being referred to goes all the way down to the bellypan. Splitting the inside of the manifold into two, left bank/right bank. Cutting that out is what they are talking about, not the divider between the TB bores....Ok
Personally I think that the divider doesn't need to come out. It seems to me that it would help with the volocity of the incoming air in the void between the TB and the runners( but I don't know mine has no divider). The most important thing is gasket matching the ports and working the port area around the injector bosses. As for the EGR I think you still want to keep your EGR system operating so your computer doesn't freak-out and 'throw codes'.

That's just my 3.9 cents
Hope it helps

Plus it's illegal to do so - federal law - regardless of whether you have emissions inspections. It would make it tough to sell to someone who does have inspections later. And with fuel-injected engines, EGR does not hurt performance.

I blocked my egr all i did was use a piece of sheet metal and placed it in between the exhaust manifold and the egr tube on the passenger side. i have had it that way for some time and have had no codes, plus it can be easily removed. Divider wise i wouldent remove it dodge put it in for a reason, but thats my 2 cents.

leave the egr there you will need it or it will
throw code 32

just remove the devider under the egr tube

gasket match the ports by the flange where it bolt
to head

yes opening the bores at tb base to 50mm solves
the low end loss because of the step there and
you will see low end gains by doing this the V8
body do not mod leave as is the body flows 635cfm
if you remove the step being 50mm it will be to
much

injector holes just bevel 45 degrees about 1/4
5/16 look like a valve seat

sounds like you have it well under control

run the egr or it will never fully learn throwing
the 32 egr code

ill start next week on the rest
i just put in a tilt column from the junkyard and bought new universals down to the new rack.
so its intake time!\
also i just primed my flush tailgate for the

third time- its gonna be a good one!

thanks though about the 635 cfm cause i didnt read it in my 92 shop service manual.

The stock V6 bodies flow 450 500 cfm depending
on which you have
42 with 40mm step
44 with 42mm step
the rare one 46 with 44mm step these were found
mostly on the full size ram chrysler knew all
about increasing the flow for more power

The F&B and fastman 46 both flow around 650 660
stock V8 50 with 48 step all right around 635
if the V6 intake bore is opened to 50mm the V8
body will work just as well as the fastman and
F&B and will show gains from off idle to redline
with the 48mm bore and the V8 body low end will
stay the same some even show a loss
