Message: I just installed a set of E3 sparkplugs cross referenced them to the Autolite 3923, they are the 3.64 plugs. I have a MSD 6A in my 96 3.9 2 wheel drive regular cab pickup. I noticed a big difference inperformance and picked up 2mpg on the freeway. I ordered the through Summit 5.99 a piece. I know the Halos and NGK v power are good plugs, I thought I would give th E3s a try. Boy am I glad that I got them.

Message: The E3 is almost identical to the halo I only
know of 1 guy who tried them and he also was
pleased with them and said he also gained mileage
One day I will try the E3 myself but just seeing
the design just like the halo I know they would
work better
having the spark open in the center no quenching
gives you like a 1 to 2 degree timming advance
just like the halo does

Message: screwuphead,
The E3's have a fixed gap. Go to their web site and read up on their presentation on combustion theory:

The Net Result
It's the best presentation on the web I have seen on ignition theory. The E3 plugs are similar to the Halo plugs in look and performance. I have used the 3.64 in my v6 dakota, it's a direct replacement for the Autolite 3923. I do my own spark plug testing as Larry from J and J auto recommends. I had a set of Bosch platinum +4 equal to the Autolite 3923s in my truck for a while the truck seemed to run ok. Then I put a set of the E3s in and what a difference. The good ole butt dyno percetion was equal in perception to adding a F and B throttlebody in place of a stock one. I have a MSD 6A on this truck with all the bolt ons. I think the Bosch +4s were actually hurting performance. I am running a set of Halos right now and my truck runs very well on them too.
92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Message: the halo's run great with the multi strike ign's
gaped at a set .045
we have them running with
MSD
Crane digital 7
and other box's and they hold up very well
the E3 is also a permanet gap
Its a pain but well worth playing with diff plugs
and gaps on the ones you can change every motor
is a little diff what works great one 1 may run
like crap on the next one
I tried the bosch +4 idle and low end great but
reved like crap
I have also run the split fires and they ran
good with the MSD gaped at .055 nice tan color
is what your looking for light tan sandy color
if white or black you have probs thay have to be
the tan color
If not to cold to hot or sensor or fuel presure
probs the plugs are your window to the motor and
can tell you a lot by reading them
Another thing here I have herd dealers and shops
tell people they are set up to run so lean that
the plugs will not get the light tan color
That Is Nothing But A Pile Of Crap not true

Message: I have the E3's installed in a 94 clubcab 5 speed, performance pcm, v8 tb with the air horns removed and shaft thinned and torque step left in. it will flow as much as an F&B for about 150.00 with all the work, msd 6a, ceramic coated jba headers, jba y pipe, catco high flow cat., magnaflow muffler, hughes cam, ported heads, ported intake manifold 14in open element air cleaner, relocated air temp sensor. Custom fiberglass bed cover, I get 18 to 22 mpg in town depending on traffic, 24 to 28 mpg on the freeway. I have a friend with a stock clubcad dakota with a 318 and auto. The only mod he has is a K and N air filter. We have raced several times and my truck will usually beat his by at least 3 truck lengths. I have put a lot of money in this truck and it has shown me that the v6 has real potential if right mods are done.

Message: I just watched a dvd sent to me by "STREETMACHINE CLUB" which I'm a member of where the EDITOR SCOTT PARKHURST and Executive Director MARK SIMPSON built a Chevrolet Engine and put it on an engine Dyno! after the basic test and run up and down the scale they were producing 416 hp,402 feet pounds of torque and 21mpg at 5200 rpm! they shut it down and changed to the E3DIAMONDFIRE SPARK PLUGS! NOW, I'M NOT A FIRM BELIEVER IN THE MULTI TIP SPARK PLUGS! I'm 78 years young and "BUSTED NUTS" FOR OVER 50 YEARS!In the old days a spark plug was a spark plug, different HEAT RANGES and REACH was about it unless you went to the aircraft applications! But, when I saw the hp,torque and mpg increase on the computer screen because of the change to 3E plugs it sold me! HP went to 434, torque went to 409 and mpg went up to 26 mpg. and the rpm went to 5500! If I'remember right they put the throttle control back in the original place where they had been running at 5200 rpm! So that meant they maintained the same throttle position but all the readings increased! My 1995 Intrepid with a 3.3 v6 is going to get the E3 treatment immidately!

Message: Hey Howard, since that was posted about 2 years ago Larry with J&J has tried the E-3's and found they do great for about 1000 miles then go to crap. I have the Halo's and I am very happy with them, they are kind of expensive, but they last a very long time and I got smooter running, better idle, and more MPG's. Also, Larry has tested the Halo's for a lot of miles and has great luck with them. He also recomends the NGK's for someone on a tight budget.
Good Luck
Dakota49
P.S. let us know how they work out for you, you may have better luck than the rest of the guys that tried them.

a great value performance and gas mileage gains
getting 21mpg this winter with my 4x4
I got 18 E3 plugs I and 2 customers tested them

Message: Larry...you've had failures with the E3's, so would you recommned staying away from them? I just say the "Horsepower" show on TV. The compared the E3 to some other "premium" plug, the E3's showed HP gains and better MPGs. I never thought a plug could make such a difference.

Message: No I sent those back to the company and they had
a bad batch with the resistor bad in them that
is what went wrong with 3 of the 18 plugs I bought
and tested in 3 dif trucks
They sent me 3 to replace those and 1 new set of 6
I have them in my truck now for the last 3000 miles and they are running great
I did index them this time with the open part
at 12 o-clock
what really took the toll on them was the MSD
system the bad resister could not handle it
that is how I and the company found the problem
it may have never shoed up with a stock ignition
system
if you can not find them summitracing.com has
them for $5.99 each
The halo's are $9 each now
I also seen the test on hp tv less gas more power
just like all the halo test that were done
the ngk vpower is the next best plug at $2.40 ea
I will be doing more testing with the E3 they
also sent me a set of 3.40 to try in my 79
lincoln 400 free I will have that car out
next weekend right now it gets 20 22 highway
400 clevland motor 375/450 crank hp its not
stock by a long shot 68,000 miles org paint on
this car from arizonia
The guys at e3 really beleave in there product
and stand behind it 100% I was very pleased and
surprized the way they treated me
investigated the prob took a few months but they
found out why they faild

Message: Larry, I seen the post where you had some problems with the E-3's that was why I went with the Halo's. I am glad someone is standing behind their products for once. I think I will keep my Halo's though, the really made a good improvement in the way my 3.9 runs, and gas mileage. Thanks for the update on the E3's.
Good Luck

Message: I looked at a set for my Dak and my step brother's Neon but they looked like crap! Threads were jammed up with peeling chrome, the electrodes looked like something from a plastic model kit. I refused them. The counter guy said he was sending them back and wasn't going to sell them to me ... or anyone else. I went to their website (E3's) and gave them my opinion of their produce.
Told my step brother to look elsewhere too.
