Finally broke down and ended my misery with my 2001 quad cab dakota. I had it for 28 months and spent $2800 in maintenance. I fought numerous issues from bearings to transmission sensors, to tires only lasting 17k miles. When I traded it in it was getting 11 mpg in the city and 14 on the highway. I bought a 2006 toyota tacoma and do not regret it at all. It has 56 more hp than the dakota, is longer, wider, rides like a lexus and best of all it is getting 20mpg average. Maybe I just had a lemon but I will never buy another dodge again. So long fellow mopar brothers.
