posible lifter tick

$120 hughesengines.com and a new set
intake gaskets around $40 to $50
the mopar or the victor work well

rare but a bad cam lobe

timming chain run the motor lean down in front
of the truck like your looking under the front
bumper see if it more noticeable there

for some reason that the mopar tecks can not even
explain when the 3.9 was machined the cam was
sitting .050 closer to the crank making the
chain even when new be slopy I have seen them
with as little as 10,000 miles so sloppy they
rap against the timming cover and sounds like
a lifter or rocker arm

the cure a new chain with the tensioner can
get this at hughes or mopar new chain gears
tensioner gaskets and front crank seal right
around $200 for the parts to fix a good mech
can do this in 4 hours if they tell you it
takes more time than that find someone else

or get a haynes manual a good helper with some
mech ability some beer take a sat or sun and
do it yourself

In my case I don't drink it would have to be
root beer and a pizza

pizza is my weak spot when someone needs a favor
they always stop over with a pizza and bribe me
into something and it usualy works

1 other thing a bad dist bushing mopar has a
puller to pull it out and drive a new 1 in
this can also make a ticking sound
