Yesterday i added a 50mm Throttle Body from F&B to my Dakota. I now get a bit more whistle out from under the hood and i was wondering if that is normal? its only when i press on the gas and open it up a little. The other thing was when i was driving on the interstate i deiced to open it up a little when i wanted to pass someone, my RPM gage few up to around 5200rpms, i am hopeing my engines okay i was wondering what the limit was on the springs? Also i noticed that my engine sits at 1200rpms now rather then 800rpms, is that normal also?
Thanks in advance guys.

Maybe you have a vacuum leak. Check your gasket and idle air control solenoid at the back of the TB. The O ring in there is troublesome at times and does not seal properly causing a whistling sound when revved up. Why the tach jumped up is beyond me, sounds like a freak thing. You may find the 50 mm to be a little large for the V6, causing you to loose some or all of your bottom end power. The V6 likes the 46 mm TB the best unless you are highly modified. Now I am sure that will spark a few comments.

I was just wondering, you were saying O ring, is there supposed to be an O ring inside that trottle body? cause there is none. i just have the idle air control solenoid that just slides in the back.

Assuming you don't have a vacuum leak, for the 1200 idle rpm, you need to adjust the throttle plates to let in less air.
On the stock TB, there is a hidden screw.
Is there an adjustment on the F&B?
After an adjustment, if you did the TPS mod to .7 volts, you will need to go back and set the voltage.

There is an O ring that is on the Idle air control solenoid. If it is not there, you will get the whistle.

the high idle is not normal

some of the F&B's come with the plates open to
far and you need to close them there is an allen
adjustment right where an idle screw would be on
an old carb

be careful here some also come with 2 allen screws
in the hole

scanner set IAC at 10 to 30 steps this needs to
be checked or it will never idle down and some
will serge up and down

Back of throttle body the idle air control

you need a scanner it will read how many steps
it is back and off the seat

there is a way to set this without a scanner
put your thumb over the round hole top of throttle
body and the rpm should drop about 100 200 rpm
hold your thumb over hole and adjust plates
this will get you right around 15 steps without
a scanner

looking from the front this hole is in the center
just behind the bores
