Okay, this may be a bit premature, but if I can't afford it right now, I can at least research it and make a list of future mods.

I know that V8 TBs will fit on a 3.9, but does a larger TB mean lower mileage? I'm also planning on getting #19 fuel injectors. These additions lead me to believe that more fuel to a cylinder means lower mileage? Do R/Ts have different TBs than non-R/T Dakotas or are they all the same?

I'm just trying to figure out the best combination of parts that will compliment each other and make her run as quickly and efficiently as possible without the aid of a turbo or supercharger. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Researching long before you buy is a great idea. I keep a folder on my desktop and i cut and paste any helpful ideas, installation tips, or info on mods into it. Then, if a part comes up on ebay or elsewhere, I am familiar with it and have the research to look up and know whether it is a good price and will fit my truck. I had my truck over 2 years before I put any mods on it other than moog ball joints.
The TB is a great mod. An RT TB is just a regular V8 stock TB, I have one on my truck. I don't pay particular attention to mileage, but I can't say that it has gotten any worse, and I have a heavy foot.

I know this is off the subject but Lesley, do you do your own mods or do you have a mechanic do it?

Just wondering, Scott

Scott, I do the easy ones and I am smart enough to leave the others for my mechanic. I'm really, really lucky in that I found a mechanic who is not only a die-hard dodge fan, but comes from a long-time racing family. His dad owns a gorgeous 30s Coupe that was on the cover of Mopar magazine, and Bill (my mechanic) has a supercharged Challenger that he races, so my dak is in capable hands.
The more I learn though, the more I can do myself, such as the TB, tune-ups, etc. I've got a box full of goodies waiting to go on as soon as the weather is good, and I am going to do them myself: IAT box, JBA 9mm power cables, brakes, brass cap & rotor, plugs.

Lesley, not to sound sexist, but not too many women wrench on their own trucks,I'm impressed, tho' my ex-wife was pretty handy with a set of tools also. I'll be installing some of the same parts this weekend,JBA 9mm wires, brass cap & rotor and new TB.From what I've been reading on the posts the throttle body will make a big difference.

Thanks Alan. The old cliché about being at the mercy of the dealership mechanics for women is unfortunately true. So, fed up, I started to research my truck, which led me to this site.

Here is a picture of it, I think it is mainly for looks :) Not sure yet how much I like it, what I would REALLY like would be a tailpipe that is polished steel as far back as you can see. We have a great local custom exhaust shop that I will eventually have make one for me.

I know you're in Canada, what time is it there? I'm in Calif, are you always up this late? I think we get a skewed time frame due to where the posts go to and come from across time zones.
