Message: I opened my hood at night and saw light flashing thru my spark plug wires. The wires are new (universal set, you crimp the ends) and I just replaced the plugs (gapped to .035). None of the wires are broken, exposed, cracked or melted. I can see an intermittent flash where the boot fits over the spark plug and also along the wires in some places.
Is this normal??

Message: that's not normal. what brand of wire did you buy? also, are you running a hi-po coil or ignition?
you shouldn't have spark jumping around like that. you could try separating the wires some where you see them acring to each other.

Message: I have Accel wires, the coil is stock. The strange thing is that it looks like I can see an arc or flash in the wire. I don't see an arc jumping to the surrounding block

Message: It sounds like your crimped ends are not making a good connection. Just buy a set of msd wires for the 5.2 and you wind up with two spare wires and no problems.

Message: Go to NAPA and buy Belden wires. They're at least OEM or better quality and are the proper length - no assembly required. And they're affordable, too.
