Message: we put a V6 mag into a boat that had a old carbed
318
using the obd1 computer and wireing it up the
impeller pump and cover bolted right on we did
however have to do some welding on the water
cooled exhaust manifolds
48mm F&B 1.7 harlands and a jet 2 chip the velvet
drive system with the o2 in a custom crossover
pipe
Its faster than the 318 by 5mph does 48 now and
burns less gas
The V6 mag was a diff way to go
we call it the Dak Boat 16 foot fibergalss v hull
Now thats cool

Message: after 3 4 hours the comp learned and its topping
out at 50 mph a 7mph gain over the old 318
pulled skiers all day sunday on 1 15 gal tank
said the 318 would burn almost twice that
there is a supier court judge on the other side of
the lake that is very interested in the setup
already asking how much
I hope I did not start a new craz here there are
27 lakes on this chain lots of small block
mopars I can just see a 318 360 with a blower
in a ski boat
I think its time to take a vacation and disiper
for a few weeks before the shop fills with boats
what have I done

Message: Sounds like a great swap ! What kind of boats are you seeing the mopar engines in ? I'm more used to seeing the GM v6/v8's in Mercruiser outdrives; or Ford stuff in OMC.

Message: Darn Larry,
What's next a 3.9 in a John Deere tractor that will do 14's in the quarter mile? Only kidding. Glad to see the potential of the v6 in the boat. Now all you need is a supercharger on that thing.

Message: the swap was actualy quite easy the fuel pump
in the tank required making a plate
the worst part was cutting the dash we used the
dash pod from the truck everything except the
speedo
all the guages and the wire harnas from the truck
the obd1 will throw no codes if you run a 200
ohm resistor to the o/d and lockup wires to comp
the obd2 you would never get away with this
because of the elect gov controll on the trans
This guy just loves this thing we even put the
infinity radio with 6 speakers in the boat
2 in front 2 in the middle and 2 in back the light
switch runs the lights its was a cool project
I still would like to put a V6 in one of the old
dodge diplamats or plymouth volarys a small light
car I think it would be great for mileage
we also used the canistor for gas tank vent the
egr was run from the exhaust no way to get it on
the exhaust manifolds because of the water
going threw them no codes yet
This was an older boat there is one on the chain
with a 383 mopar in it
years ago I did a lot of boat motor rebuilding
old 312 ford y block's flat head mopar 6 cyl
even a few ycomings
just goes to show anything is posible with a
little imagination
He wanted a rebuild or swap I suggested the V6
fuel injected and his eyes light up like lights
on a christmas tree and said your joking right
no I am serious got the motor and harnass from
the bone yard for $800 another $900 labor

Message: I know of no super charged boats around here
lots of ford 302 351's and chevy small blocks
I rebuilt 1 about 16 years ago with a 427 chevy
big block this thing will break your ear drums
and do just about 100 miles per hour the only
others that come close are the side winders with
the 455 olds engines they will do 85 90 mph
the 427 has the headers up over the motor aimed
back and nothing behind them blows flames about
2 feet back this boat scares me I/O velvet drive
turning 7000rpm its like a nightmare something
you would see on like the old monsters tv show
