Subject: Electric supercharger...larry? IP: Logged
Message: Yeah so I have been seeing these things on Ebay, which probably isnt a good sign in the first place, but they claim that it is a bolt on to your existing air intake (Fuel injection performance kit I guess) and say that you can gain about 35 to 50 HP....now why does this sound too good to be true.....does it mess the engine up? I mean they cost about 80 $.....for 80 $ getting 35 to 50 more HP thats worth it, but I dunno......Does anyone have any experience with these ????/ thanks.

Message: Sounds like simply forcing air into the intake via an electric blower. I doubt an electric blower is going to be able to create stable pressure, especially for an $80 kit. You might as well get a squirrel cage fan from a furnace, mount it on top of your hood, and duct it into your intake for all that it'd be worth.

Message: sticking it into your air tube but look at the
amperage draw what ever you woukd have gained is
ate up by the power it draws
A bigger throttle body and a cold air system will
give you more gain than this electric s/c
my opinion a wast of good money there are so many
proven mods you can do just start 1 at a time as
you can afford them once they are all in place
they compliment each other and make for a great
running V6
