Larry,
This is what I Have, Could you recomend a gear ratio for me? CAI, V8 TB, Gibson 3inch single exhaust, MSD wires, Autolite 3923+ plugs, IAT move to CAI, TPS mod. The truck see mostly local roads and a little bit(20-40 miles) of hi-way driving per week. I do one or two long trips a year with it. I'm also working on a intake manifold w/ shorten runner, and planning on HS 1.7:1 RR's. The stock gears in the rear are the 3.55's w/ LSD.The truck really starts to rock-n-roll about 2600 rpm's,but it's a slug of the line. Do you think 3.91's or 4.10's would help? Or should I change/add some mods? I'm not looking for race car fast performance, just better power/mpg. I also noticed that the BFG 275/60/r15 on all four corners, which are very Fat & gripp the road nicely, really pulled the MPG's down (-20miles/per fill-up)I get 16mpg avg.
P.S.
Awhile back you recomended Shift-rite's Trans-Gaurd, That stuff is great, solved my cold shift 2nd/3rd problem. They make a injector cleaner that totally kicks butt too. It's called Sleghammer.
........Thanks in advance for the advise

the 3.91 only changes rpm about 200 its a good
way to go for a little more off the line it will
not effect mileage I have seen trucks get bette
r mileage with the 3.91 than the 3.55 it definatly
helps

This is not just a bolt in the height and backlash
must be set correctly the gears around $400 instal
around $200 $250 its not cheap

the 4.10 would be more for trailer towing and
racing for the street the 3.91 is perfict I am
going to be putting my 3.91's back in my 4x4
that little extra off the line is nice to have
but I have the whole rears from another truck
its just a simple swap for me unbolt and bolt
the other rears right in
