Subject: lifting my v6 dakota IP: Logged
Message: i was tring to get a 3-4 in lift on my dakota and also throw 35s on it. i was wondering if anyone has tried it. as well as the power loss if any, and a cheaper lift for it. i am having trouble finding a lift for the front torsion bar suspension.

Message: you can leave your suspension alone and just do a body lift if your worried about price.... body lift is always cheaper then suspension lift....
power loss kinda hard to say.... your turnin bigger tire and will use more gas to get that thing going so you notice a gas mileage difference and maybe some acceleration loss....

Message: I think the general rule of thumb is increase your gears the same precentage as the increase in tire size, to maintain stock like performance.
Example:
a 30 inch tire icreased to a 35 is aprox 17%
3.55 gears increased 17% is close to 4.11's
well anyway that's what I go by, makes sense.
