Subject: MSD IP: Logged
Message: I have an 89 dakota V6 and wanting to replace my ignition with an MSD box. What one is recommended for my truck?

Message: The MSD6A is the ignition box used by most. As well as the MSD Blaster Coil. I put it into my 95 and it works great.

Message: The MSD 6 works very well on the pre mag
motors
They hook up the same way just using a good
ground the big red to the batt always on they
draw no currant untill the coil circuit is
activated
coil plus power steady volts while cranking
coil minus signal volts up and down
of course pull your fuel pump relay while
testing to identify which wire does what
do not try to hook it up using there old wire
diagram that shows using the dist wires that
is for older vehicles the pre mag is the same
as the mag trucks using the coil wires to run
the box
