dakotas are only a half ton truck... they can be used for snow plow but only under light duty conditions... the only thing you might need to do is bump up the torsion bars cause of the extra weight in the front end and keep the back with some extra weight for rear wheel traction so the front isnt doin all the work... there are kits out there for mid-size trucks so they can pluw and they aren overly heavy.... just be prepared for extra maintance....

The s word ohhh my god

Many Dakotas around here with snow plows

The light weight plows and a good trans cooler
and they work great the guys who have them love
them because of the smaller size and tighter
turning radious

I have 3 customers with plows but we also instaled
a shift kit with the cooler no trans probs with
any of these

what you do is get a relocating mount for the
torsion bars that reclocks the position to handle
the weight and maintain the ride height

Thats all there is to having a plow on a dak
the torsion bars will work as is also the light
weight plows only drop it about 1"

It has been warned that for my '04 Dak QC 4x4 that the airbag sensors need to be removed or modified. Danger of setting them off.

Put the plow on the truck and no snow. The snow is melting, what bad luck!

I have a '92 dodge dakota replaced a lot of things as far as ignition and suspension goes so it is in pretty descent running shape it is a V6 3.9 liter and 2 wheel drive. I was wondering if I could hook up a plow to it, how to go about doing it, and if it would do any damage to my truck. Any info will help

Will you get enough traction with 2WD and a plow? Pushing snow can also be hard on your transmission.

I PUT A western 6.5 utlity plow on my 95 slt 4x4 6 years ago. As long as you dont abuse the trk it does a great job. I put 600lbs of tractor weights in the box to balance it out. Last month I went to plow our 1st snow and went about 3 ft and was stuck. I forgot to put into 4wd. I would not recommend a 2wd to plow with.
