 Subject: Runnin out of gas at half tank

I have a 99 dakota sport...3.9l v6
it seems to run out of gas at half a tank
feels like it's suckin air n starts loosing power
as soon as i put gas in it ran fine
now i have the additional problem of when it's warm it starts backfiring and almost seems like it's flooding itself out
i know the fuel pump is on it's last legs it wines loudly
any other suggestions would be helpful

You need a new fuel pump/sender assembly
or find a source of the filters in it..
You will most likely discover that the real
cause of the problems is the filters
on the pump assembly are dirty { plugged }
Especially the one at the bottom [ looks just like
a small 'air filter' except bottom of it is closed off with metal . IF you were able to find
this FILTER new somewhere , and replace it =
problem solved . BUT = will have to spend over
$ 300.00 for a complete assembly to accomplish same result..
