I agree, I'd go with the exhaust also. It hepled considerably at higher rev's on mine, but I did have a bad cat. (meow, man!)

Forget the exhaust and work on the intake side first. Port the intake manifold, throttle body, heads, and add a cam or 1.7 rockers. After you have done all of that you will realize some gains from a good exhaust system. If you still want to go further you can get some custom computer work done and bore and stroke it.

chevy rocks shows himself to be an immature adolecent. S10's are for children and midgets. They can't haul anything if you have a passenger. They are toys, not trucks. When you take them off the road they break into little pieces and get hauled out by real dodge trucks.
The other option is to used force induction. Sometimes it can be cheaper in the long run. Some people spend months or even years doing a little bit at a time just arrive at the same power a forced air induction unit would give and many can be installed in one day.
