Subject: Timing chain for 98 DAK IP: Logged
Message: I know I asked this question before, but I couldn't find the thread. I need to replaced my timing chain for a 98 DAK 3.9 and wanted to know if this part # CLO-9-1103 from summit racing would fit my engine? I also found the tensioner, part #DCC-5007709, just wanted to know if they would be the right parts before ordering.
Thanks
Sal

Message: Hi Sal!
Yes! The timing set and tensioner will fit. I believe any timing set that fits an older "small block" 273-360 Chrysler will fit a newer 3.9-5.2-5.9. And the tensioner that Mopar Performance sells there is the same as the factory installed item on '99 and up.
Someone should correct me if I'm wrong; And I hope they do!
Extreme Velocity Intake, 52 MM Holley Billet, Ported, Hughes Plenum Plate, Perma Cool Fan, Jacobs Pro Street, Moroso Ultra 40, Bosch 4, Superchips, CPS, IAT Mods, Dynomax Ultra Flo, Transgo, SLT Trim, Diamond Heads & Corners, Clear Tails, Hood Pins, APC White Gauge, PML Polished Trans & Diff Covers...

Message: Yes, I do believe you are correct, except for one thing, DC started installing the tensioners in late 97...right after they made my truck:)
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.
