Message: i just got the summit brass cap and rotor and plug wires for my truck. the plug wires are ultra low resistance 8mm. i also got an airaid CAI that i am waiting to install. i was wondering what would be the best spark plugs to run with this setup. right now i have the autolite 3923's. my truck runs pretty rough at start up but after a minute or so it runs fine, thats why i was wondering if i should change my plugs since i got the new cap and rotor and wires. thanks

Message: oh, i was also wondering if i should put back on the rubber flap that goes behind the grille on the passenger side, since the air filter is exposed should i be worried about water getting in there without that rubber flap? help, im planning on installing everything tonight!!!

Message: i've read recently that a few people were talking up the NGK Vpower plugs. you might want to try them. i think KRC has started using them in hi-perf applications.
as far as that flap. my '00 hasn't had it in 6 yrs and no water goes near that box.
and for the rough start up, how's the condition of the battery? i might not hurt to have it load tested if it's getting on in years. i have the orig battery in my '00 and sometimes on a cold start it will idle a little funky for about a minute or so then smooth out as the voltage comes back up.

Message: The NGK's run great in these motors
FR5 3923
FR4 stock range
Hgk heat ranges bigger number colder plug
oposite of most other plugs
The only better in thes motors is the halo at
$9 ea most will not spend the money
Gap the NGK's
92 to 95 obd1 .035
96 and up obd2 .040
The stock ignition on these trucks is not bad
it runs very well
I just went from a set of NGK FR5 to my halos
I was averaging 22.5 22.7 all around driving
In colder rainny weather the truck should have
gotten worse mileage but when I filled it
100 miles 4.2 gals 23.8 I will keep watching
the mileage but the motor also runs crisper
with the halo's revs cleaner everywhere in the
rpm range 1200 stall to 4800 it shifts at wot
doing the intake port work and the 1.7's and a
good exhaust they will pull upto 5000 stock
they drop off bad after 4400 rpm
A 25 to 30 torque gain from around 2800 to
4800

Message: Interested in knowing how your ultra low resistance wires are working out. Resistance is what keeps the popping noises out of your radio. If they was to be bad enough to efect the car next to you say at a light or just traveling on a double plus lane in heavy trafic and that car just happened to be a police/HP car, you can be fined for interferance in there radio gear. Question is I guess, are they dot approved or are they off road wires. Really interested in your answer to this. Thank you.
So many problems .... So little time

Message: well, with my new wires, cap and rotor and cold air, my truck is running alot better, i noticed a moderate amount of power increase, right around where i expected. as for my wires, im pretty sure they're legal, and if i mess up some cop's radio, i really dont care.
