Subject: removing dipstick IP: Logged
Message: Changing out the long block, and having a hard time removing the dipstick. It's unbolted (of course). I sprayed some penetrating oil 1st. I'm grabbing close to the block with pliers, it's not moving and I'm crushing the tube.
Tips? Should I heat up the base of the tube with a torch? Rip it apart and drill out the the base (old longblock is going back as a core to be rebuilt and I have to remove the tube) and buy a new tube from Mother Mopar?
Thanks

Message: I managed to get it out, but mangled it pretty well. I had to get it out before sending the old longblock back to get my core change back. I'll probably pick up a new one. Thanks

Message: What did you have to do in order to get it out, my dipstick is extremely tight, and I was considering changing it out for a new one. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
