Subject: Brake and ABS Light On IP: Logged
Message: My wife's 89 Dakota has the ABS and parking brake lights on, even with the brake disengaged. When the parking brake is engaged, the light is brighter.
Is it a brake problem? Or an electrical one, as in the lights simply are not going off?

Message: I had the same problem, and it turned out to be the speed sensor.
Is the speedometer acting up? Chances are it is either the speed sensor or the ABS sensor.
It cost about $200 at the dealer to replace the speed sensor (including tax, service, and part).
