If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks...well...it needed to be replaced anyway.

Message: I think the NGK might depend on the year of the truck, too. When I go to NGK website and search for my truck (2003 3.9)the stock number is ZFR6F-11 and then that would make 1 range colder be ZFR7F-11. When I search for my dad's truck (1998 3.9) the they say the stock number is FR5-1 and then the 1998's 1 range colder would be FR6-1.
If I am missing something someone please let me know.
Thanks

Message: If i remember correctly, cause my memory is bad too, the NGK's number system is in reversed. So, the one heat range colder for the FR6 would be the FR5.

Message: The colder heat ranges are higher numbers for NGK. Check out their website.
And either way you look at it it would still depend on the year of the truck. (At least as far as their website is concerned) The 1998 states that the stock is FR5 - 1 range colder is FR6. My 2003 states the stock is FR6 - 1 range colder would be FR7. This information is just coming from their website not trying to prove anyone wrong I just want to understand completely.

Message: The dif is in length of the electrode
stock 12 champ
Autolite 3924, extended 5224
1 colder
3923
the 3923 exact cross over to NGK is the FR5
3924 FR4
yes ngk is backwards for heat range but the FR5
we have been installing in all the V6 V8 92 threw
03 and run fine
going 1 colder in the plug code listed for your
truck at NGK.com will also have the same resaults
1 colder
The feed back to the cmputer with the resistor
type ngk works better than the non resistor
autolite they do run a little better
1 other thing here be sure your not getting a plat
or standard electrode plug the FR is the v power
plug plat plugs must be gaped larger or they have
a tendancy to ping .005 bigger with plat
Get the FR5 or FR5-1
obd1 .035
obd2 .040
you will not be disipointed they run great the only
other plug that will run better is the halo at
$8 each in these motors
