Subject: Anti lock brakes IP: Logged
Message: Help! I have a 1993 Dakota, it wouldnt start. The trouble was in the red wire under the fuse block on the fender. Corrosion ate up the wire. Fixed the wire and the truck runs fine. Now the Brake warning light stays on as well as the antilock brake light. They were fine before the truck wouldnt start. Is there a wire in that harness that feeds the abs, i have only rear wheel abs. The brakes are terrible now, dont think I have rear brakes at all. Anyone have any info to help me out. Thanks. Don

The abs and break light will flash codes just
like engine comp if you jump the 2 wire connector
but you need the info which is to much to type
Do this
e break parcialy on
blown breaklight or abs fuse
low fluid level
behond that you would need to get a manual and
see what codes it flashes and follow the test
pecedures
Also disconect the batt for about 3 min this
will reset the abs comp and turn off the light
There are a number of things that can trip this
light try the reset
If you unplug the o2 sensor and start the truck
the abs light will trip and need to be reset
this is just to show you that many things can
trip the light and the only way to get it of
is to reset
the only other way the codes can be read is by
a dealer drb scanner
