Message: my power steering had a leak, and it was more serious that i thought, it evidently ran down to much and now the truck is making the whining noise even though the pump is full of fluid. The pump is shot right? As far as i can tell ,it isn't due to clogged lines and everything seems to be checking out okay...i don't have a leak anymore but im sure that is due to the pump not working correctly. If it sounds busted to you could you tell me where the cheapest place to pick a new one up is? Or does anyone happen to have an old one they need to get rid of ( im strapped for cash right now ) any help would be appreciated. by the way i have a 98 dakota sport

Message: I had a pump do this a few years ago. A buddy was selling SFR . I bought a 1/2 pint bottle and later a spray can of it. This stuff is expensive but it has fixed problem from that whining pump to scrowling bearings in power tools. this stuff is like nothing you ever used period. You use very little at a time. In fact I am still using the same 2 containers.

Message: Obio3, what is SFR?
JasonE, use Seafoam's TransTune is the PS.
It is a cleaner and might help. Then you will need to change/flush the fluid.
Seafoam's website has instructions.

Message: http://www.sfrcorp.com/ read it there zzrk. I have never looked at there web site before and had no idea they had so many products as now.. When I got mine, computers were just starting to be a serious option. this stuff started and was/is manufactured here in Butte Mt. where I live. A friend I worked with got involved with it. They had a terrific deminstration that involved serious metal to metal friction. Anyway I had to be more convinced so we took this stuff to my shop and we tried everything we could come up with using a press to create tons of friction and we could not score a bearing running none movable against steel. all other fluids scored very easy. and we could take the pieces we scored and put SFR on them and could not score them worse even though the serfaces was rough. I'm sure there's a way to defeat this stuff but there is no way you can't be impressed with it.
