Subject: Crank socket size - fuel sync IP: Logged
Message: I am planning to do the fuel injector sync mod, and someone posted here that the crank bolt is a 1 1/4" on the V-6. I bought this size socket and it's too big for a '92 V-6. Any idea what the correct size is?

Message: I think it's 30mm in which case 1 3/16 would be pretty close.

Message: Thanks - that explains why the 1 1/4" that people here said to use, didn't fit. Will tackle the mod in a week or two and report my results.
Last tankful, which is for all stock truck, was 20.6 mpg with about a 50/50 mix of highway and city.

Message: I doubt that the v6 has a smaller bolt but anyhow I just checked mine and it is definately 1 1/4 and not 30mm or 1 3/16. I suppose it could be 31mm but that's a pretty odd size. 1 1/4 is a little sloppy but it has always worked for me.

Message: 1 1/4" won't even engage - just spins around freely on the bolt head. Stock 92 V-6, original.
