i have noticed the past few times i have gotten gas that it has a strong oil smell. the same from several different stations in the city where i go to. anyone else notice that or is it just something from this part of the country? west central indiana. of course it wouldn't supprise me if they are diluting it down.

Is it an ethanol blend? I noticed a change in the smell of the fuel when they went to the 10% ethanol blend here in Va recently. That might be what you are smelling.
If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks....well, it needed to be replaced anyway!!

well i didn't notice that, i thought i was getting plain unleaded but maybe i wasn't. it should say on the pump if it's ethanol blend wouldn't it? i go to the same stations and haven't noticed anything about them having ethanol blend before.
