Subject: Voltage regulator IP: Logged
Message: On all 1990 Dakota V6 were the voltage regulators in with the computor? If not where is the regulator on a truck using germany
alternator?
Also were any of the regulators mounted in the alternator?

Message: the regulator should be mounted on the firewall.... it has 3 bolts holding it there.... the regulators didnt become placed in the alternators on most dodges till later in the 1990's

Message: gnrhaze,the reg is in the pcm and have been since 88 in the dak,
you can put a ext reg if you locate the wires to the int reg
advance auto parts have a reman pcm for about $160 exchanged if your sure you need

Message: didnt know they were in the pcm.... but when you look up a 90 dakota they say the voltage regulator is firewall mounted.... and thats according to advanced auto parts website
