Message: I just put my K&N intake in my 3.9 2000 on Sunday.
I noticed the difference in power as soon as I hit the gas. The only problem I had was with the saddle bracket not fitting so I didn't put it on. Last night as I turned on my truck and drove home I heard a whistling from the filter so this mourning I looked to see what it was and the only thing that seemed to be the problem was the tightness of the bolt to the throttle body. I could move the intake a little back and forth. I took the bolt out to make a better fit and when i did so the stud that actually goes in the TB came out inside the bolt. I couldn't seperate the two so I tried to make a better fit with the intake and screwed the bolt back in the throttle body. The whistling is gone now but is this going to be a problem? I don't know how far the stud is suppossed to go in the throttle body but since it is stuck in the bolt I just tried to make it tight. The intake still moves a little from side to side. The FIPK is for the V8 part #57-1517 so from what I've heard from this site the intake should be fine but the main thing i am worried about is the stud stuck in the bolt for tightening the intake on the throttle body. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

Message: Should have put a little grease on the threads of the stud after you screwed it in the TB.
Next time you have it out take two nuts of the same thread, run them up on the stud then jam them together holding them with a wrench unscrew the top bolt.
You can mount the saddle bracket on the back side of the tube click on my profile or if you want I can send you some better photos
I think that it was part of the changes to help keep the tube from cracking the 57-1509 kit doesn't have it or the cruise control bracket.
