Subject: A/C Compressor IP: Logged
Message: ok, so question, any time I have my ac/heater on, whether or not the a/c switch is on, the a/c compressor kicks on... Anyone have any ideas?

Message: Joe's right. If you have the defroster on the a/c will kick on too. If it's on vent (with the a/c off) and the a/c still licks on it's probably the a/c heater control. I had a Ford that did the same thing. It cost too much to repair. I just pulled the a/c relay out and put it back when it was too hot outside or sometimes when it was raining. It was kind of a pain in the ass, but I just kept thinking about the 275.00 is would cost for the new controller. The a/c kicking on to defrost windows works well, but isn't absolutely necessary. When it's raining out and the inside of the windshield gets fogged up it's nice to have the dry air blowing on the windshield rather than hot air when it's 80 degrees out.
