Message: if you change the cams you need to change the
valve springs they will bind at .500 lift
you would also need to stay with the 1.6 ratio
with the cam change
the harlands will change your cam from
250/264 .432
to
254/268 .462
average gain 15 to 18 at the wheels and 20
to 25 foot pounds you will notice them from
1800 on up and better gas mileage

Message: Well whats better for most performance out of the V6 a cam swap with 1.6RR's or the stock cams with the 1.7 RR's?!

Message: Since you have already ordered the Harlands from Summit, stick with them they are way easier to install than the cam. Too much lift and duration of a different cam will require a computer flash which you will not be able to do on your own. Stay with the basics for now until you really know what you want to do with your truck. Buy the Superchips programmer, that is a very user friendly device and you will be pleased with the results.

Message: yes you have them ordered just put them in you
will be very happy with the resaults
a bigger tb like the fastman or F&B and spend the
money for the intake gaskets remove the bottle
neck at the flange by using a old gasket and match
the port to the gasket 10 ponies right there its
bad on these intakes around $40 for gaskets
intake bolts 12 foot pounds in 3 steps 4 8 12
starting from center and x pattern towards both
ends
once thats done headers a high flow and low
restriction exhaust will show some gains 15 to 20
at the wheels
do the crank sensor mod, set your sync 98 and up
super chips 92 95 performance comp 97 guys are
screwd there but can get a flash on the obd2
A good shift kit and let her roll, a tonno cover
will also help with the V6 every little thing
helps once you get all these things done they all
compliment each other
stock trucks are around 120 rwhp with all the mods
and some twicking 150 to 175 rwhp is easily
obtainable
my 95 4X4 is running 186 189 rwhp all the bolt
on's port match intake and the heads are just
cleaned of all flaws and polished this is with
a stock comp stage 2 chip and base timing at 14
IAT in the bottom of K&N and a ram air set up
this truck gets 19 20 below 30 degrees in the
summer 22 24mpg 3.55 gears oh I have a permacool
2950 elect fan mounted in the shroud and a 2 row
rad running 185 188
