I have a 91 V6 dakota when I shut down the engine it makes kind of a strange unwinding noise from somewhere around the throttle body. maybe the throttle position sensor? smooth idle and no power loss.

Maybe somebody put one of those tornado turtle kneck super charged 50 extra HP Jobbers with the cute spinning fan in it. Sounds like a baby jet shutting down

I wish it was something obvious like a useless aftermarket part. not that all aftermarket are useless, however the noise is rougher like a bad fan clutch or like a spring unwinding in a metal bore.

maybe what your hearing is the fan spinning coming to a stop maybe your fan clutch is going bad...
