Message: 2002 dakota had a 3.9 in it now a 5.9 supercharged using the NV3500. My clutch just went out. I know a guy who will do the labor for $200 and grind down my flywheel so I'm going to let him do it. I'm at 70k miles on truck, 15k on new engine.
Where's the best place to buy a clutch cheap?
I checked ebay for about 5 seconds and don't think I found what I needed. Part # would be very useful.
And yes the NV3500 holds the new engine quite well.

Message: You best reconsider how you use the word cheap. You buy a cheap cluch you could posible strip the plate off in a single burnout. You buy the best money can buy built for dumping the cluch and bunches of HP, it becomes the cheapest and smartest thing you could do. Just for giggles, when you get a cluch that can take the abuse, be sure you have a trany sitting on the floor ready to go and again. built to take it. and the list goes on . Your biggest problem is lack of proper knowledge in hard core driving. That's not ment to cut you down. Just hope you got enough money to keep it going till you do get good . I sure hope your doing this on a track or strip with the proper safety equipment.Good luck

Message: I put in an Original Equipment. I had 32,000 on mine. The throw out bearing was whining so, had the clutch put in at same time. The OE is heavy duty!

Message: ALL TRUCks are HD. He is racing plus S/C . Very differant deal .
If your going to drive hard you pay the bucks to do it. I guess I shouldn't care. Not my time changing them nor my money. One thing for sure. You change enogh cluches on the same rig you do get good at it.

Message: Pay attention, next time you are at a stop next to a Big Rig. Do they rev it up and slip the clutch?
Go to a parking lot and practice starting without using the gas pedal. After a while you'll be able to get 100's of thousands of miles out of your clutch.

Message: Excuse me.
What on earth did you do to replace an engine in 70,000 miles? ? ????
Sounds to me Daimler/Chrysler could use you as a test driver.
They spend millions trying to find flaws before production.
Apologies for my shock. I have 500,000 miles on my original engine and transmission. I have a somewhat differant perspective.
