Hey all, I currently have a 3.9l in my 98 dakota. Correct me if i'm wrong, for the 5.2 liter, all I should need is the engine, wiring harness, and ecu right? Any extra mounts I need to be concerned with? The 5.9 seems to be a different story... I doesn't seem related to the 3.9 or 5.2 at all. What would I need for this particular swap?

5.9 is an easy swap also. Hopefully they are both magnums. The magnums match right up, the LA motors need new motor mounts. They are like $250 from www.engine-swap.com
I swapped a 5.9 supercharged with a vortech engine into my 3.9. My engine came with ALL accessories and wiring harness. Just got a new ecu and a flywheel. I still use my NV3500 tranny and my clutch just went out. I'll be posting a new thread for some info.

Awesome! I will be sure to get a magnum. What do you mean by "LA motors"? Also, are the 3.9 mounts the same as the 5.9? There are only 3 on the 3.9 right? One more thing, is the NV3500 the standard 3.9 tranny?
I also heard of a possible driveshaft/rear end change..
