Message: I beleave its the TFOD 518 from summit racing
around $110
Do everything the kit tells you and they work well
2 things
Check the TV sleave and plunger for wear
Also be sure the seal rings are good on the 1-2
accumulator its the valve that falls out when you
remove the valve body.
If any of these parts are bad transmissionpartsusa
.com has them in stock for fast delivery
This must be a 46RE in that case you can install
the rear servo cusion blocker without moving the
rear housing back.
The 1-2 gov plug is your choice but who really
needs to down shift to low at any speed
Use break clean or carb cleaner no costic fluids
like gas or fuel oil they leave a residue that
causes sticky valves
Take your time its not that complicated to install
If you run into any probs I am at this board
almost every day now
You will have some nice firm shifts with the kit
and the TV mod you can set your shift points
just about anywere you like them

Message: Larry, not to hoard the crowd but I am looking into doing some upgrades to my tranny too. ( or updates ) I just have one simple question.
-"This must be a 46RE in that case you can install the rear servo cusion blocker without moving the rear housing back."-
Think you mean that its a 'direct replacement,' I am correct?

Message: The rear servo the transgo kit changes the spring
and ads a spacer (cousion blocker)
On the A500 you need to slide the o/d housing back
remove the pin from the servo arm to get it apart
on the A518 you can change this without doing this
They also add a spacer blocker to the front servo
89 to 98 I recomend the TCI220500 kit but you will
also have to be sure the 1-2 acc and the TV sleave
and plunger are not worn if so replace them
On the 1-2 accumulator you can get a alm not
plastic replacement which is better from
redrider.us for $15 plus shipping the stock
plastic is $30
If the rings leak on the acc it will cause soft
shifts and bump shifts
If the plunger and sleave are wore you will have
eradic shift points not repeating like they should
