Message: its actually very easy... support the lower control arm and disconnect the lower ball joint at the knuckle... lower the jack on the control so that when the ball joint pops out of knuckle from hitting the side of the knuckle with a hammer where the balljoint comes through it can rest on the jack when it pops... then just undo the nut and all way and lift the the knuckle off the joint... then undo the axle nut and slide the knuckle off the axle.... disconnect the axle from the diff. and remove axle.... cut the old boot down the center from end to end... with a hammer hit the backside of the CV joint housing and it should slide off.... clean out the joint and repack with fresh axle grease that comes with new boot... slide new boot on with shaft with the new clamp loosly fitted and slide the CV joint back on making sure it locks back on by sliding back all the way and slide the boot over the CV joint and install new outter clamp.... with the crimpping pliers crimp bothe clamps in place holding the boot on the joint and the boot on the shaft... then reinstall..... sounds like alot but its really not... should take about 30 - 45 mins a side to do....

Message: you'll spend more time cleaning the balls and cage and repacking them, than actually removing and reinstalling the axle

Message: be careful with the clamps when you are tightening them, because, unless you're good, the clamps are usually a one shot deal.

Message: well you figure for example.... if a boot cost say 20 bucks from a parts store and say an axle cost 150 bucks.... what would you do.... if the axle isnt making noise but just needs a slight cleaning and repacking the boot is the way to go.... hell doing that only takes an extra 15mins.... i dont think 15 mins is worth spending 100 give or take a few bucks more is worth it.... its a very simple job....
