Subject: front end squeaking IP: Logged
Message: Hi guys, just asking for a little help. I am getting alot of squeaking sounds coming from the front end. When you drive or even when you get out of the truck. I have a 98 v6. The ball joints have been replaced already and the shocks. I was wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at?

Message: how long ago have the balljoints been replaced and have they been greased lately.... also the noise could be coming form the tierod ends cause they do move up and down also as well as rotating with wheel turning.... and or the upper and lower control arm bushings could be squeeking also....

Message: could also be noise coming from the rubber bushings on the rear leaf springs, when they go dry the whole truck will squeak when getting in or out, spray some teflon spray lube on the bushings, make sure to really soak them.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee

Message: the balljoints were replaced about a year ago. I have order some tierod ends and I will be putting them on soon. I was under the truck this past weekend and I sorta thought that some of the noise was coming from the shocks bushings. I think I might try some of that teflon spray. Thanks for the help I will let you know how it goes.

Message: It is most likely the control arm bushings. That is a common problem with our trucks.

Message: Are the control arm bushing hard to change? I have not even looked into changing them?
