Subject: O2 sensor relay? IP: Logged
Message: I have also another dakota QC 2001 but here is my problem the check engine light will not go off if I even reset the PCM. Changed out all 4 O2 sensors but code 136 still comes back like a bad dream. Replaced that O2 again and tried to clear but light still there. Noticed in the distribution box there is a relay for the O2 sensor. What does this sensor do?

Message: that relay i believe controls the heater circuit in the O2's... the rear O2 has a hearter built into it so it can warm up at the same or close rate that front O2's do from the heat of the exhaust... just allows the sensor to get to operateing temp quick so it can keep emmission at a normal level...
