Message: Mine is a 2002, and it's the same way. Only one time have I put more than 15 gallons in it - and the gauge was sitting on empty. I've seen similar posts before, and asked the question myself - and the responses came back that it was the position of the low fuel sensor in the tank that makes the low fuel lamp come on when there's still seven gallons in it. One of these days, I'm going to take a can of gas with me on a trip and just run the darned thing dry to see how far I can go.

Message: Come to think of it my build sheet has a option code of YGCA which says "7 additional gallons of gas" maybe they shipped with 7 so it'd be 1/3 full?

Message: I have a 2000 CC 4x4 3.9L auto and I usually fill up at the 1/8th tank mark averaging around 16-17 gallons. When the light come on I usually have somewhere around 5-7 gllons.I average around 15.5 to 16 mpg. The sad thing is I put on a throttle body space just to get the "better" mileage. The good thing is I have better low end power along with a smoother, more noticeable pull. I got it on E-bay for $88.00. Something to look into?
