Message: Well folks here I go again...just got my truck from a mechanic that had it for 2 1/2 months but only ran a diagnostic.yet he tells me that my computer is bad. Replaced that but truck still runs like crap. Was able to keep it running by unplugging the MAP. Shifting is still sluggish will replace speed sensor to see if this would help.Does the temp sensor make a big diffence on how well the engine runs.Changed TPS, fuel pressure regulator, Fuel pump, MAP,ASD...Running out patience....

Message: o2 sensor you need to check this controls the
air/fuel ratio how much gas the injectors in the
throttle body give the motor
Yes if the temp sensor is reading cold it will
run rich, if hot will run lean

Message: it can run so rich it backfires. I had that problem before. Replaced temp sensor, no more backfiring.
Shop could not find issue on this one, I happened to notice one day that my temp guage was wrong (cold and bouncing on occasion).
