Subject: Excess tranny fluid IP: Logged
Message: Hi guys;
I was checking my tranny fluid today and I noticed it looks about 1-2 quarts overfull and has some bubbles in it. I had my tranny fluid changed at the local shop 1500 miles ago with atf+4 and they must have overfilled it. Any suggestions on how I could get some of this stuff out before it ruins my tranny?
Thanx

Hot or cold?
My book says NEUTRAL. It does make a difference.
You CAN remove some through the fill tube.

Message: does the fluid look normal? if it looks wierd or contaminated, you may have a breach in the tranny cooler within the radiator letting coolant into the ATF.. you can have the tranny fluid checked for the presence of coolant

Message: It was checked while in park come to think about it. The fluid looks like new aside from the bubbles of air, but I will try checking it in neutral and let u guys know. Thanks for the help

Message: Any way you look at it its a messy job to remove
but you need to do it the foaming causes
cavitation and over heating not a good thing
Take it back were it was done and make them do it
Nutral when hot anywhere in the safe mark is fine
