Subject: Removing gearshift and throttle levers IP: Logged
Message: I'm trying to remove these 2 which are connected to the valve body manual lever shaft on the tranny, but have no luck so far. I got the 2 bolts out that were on each of the levers, but what's next? I'm trying to pull it up (by hand, by tool, slammed it with hammer), but nothing. The gearshift has some play (it's on the bottom), but the throttle is dead frozen. Am I doing it right??
Truck is a 97 2wd auto, and 42re tranny.

Message: Too late now. But I don't worry much about the bolts. I worry more about how it will go down on the shaft.
