Does anyone know where I can get a computer to fit a 91 dakota with a 318 in it? The truck had a v6 in it before. Will the plug be the same on both computers? Thanks for any info.

Does it have a manual or automatic tranny? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 91 didnt come stock with a 318 I believe... BUT a computer from a 1991-1996 Dakota will work as long as you pull it from a dakota that has the same type of transmission as yours... we attempted to put a 93 ECM from a 5-speed dakota into my 92 Auto and it wouldnt go into over-drive.. ECK! lol

It has a manual tranny. Also, I believe 91 is the first year to come with a 318 stock(correct me if I'm wrong)

91? Oh really.. I wasnt sure about that at ALL... I think they only did the 318 5-Speed in later years then... I got it mixed up with something..
oh well, ANYWAYS... If I were you, I'd try a junk-yard .. i could possibly find one around here for you... How much are you looking to spend? it should be a simple plug and play installation!

91 is throttle body injection
Late 89 to 91 318 same plug
Manual no dif but you need to know if its a auto
and has lookup converter some 88 89 90 91 could
have o/d and lookup this you need to know and use
a computer that had the same trans just check
the connectors
Or you can use presure switch and vac switch to
control the trans from the gov test port with
no computer control this set up works very well
we use it to put the 518 into the older trucks
