Message: I replaced my in 4 cylinder with a V6 but this rebuilt motor has been trouble ever since. I changed the computer and wire harness that came from another dakota that was the same year. Still it runs like hell.It gives me code 24 for TPS system but all that has been changed. The transmission shift points are sluggish at 2nd to 3rd.Any help would be appreciated.
2001 QC dakota with 20" Feretti's, SS aftermarket grille, K&N air filter, Jet Stg1 chip and more mods to come when I get my 89 running right.

Message: Stupid question, but did you make sure ALL the ground straps were hooked back up? If you did, check all the plug connectors to make sure that they are not damaged and making good contact, also check out the #5 splice located about 5 or so inches from the PDB.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Message: Dude a 2001 Quad Cab shipped with a 4-banger? Ouch that must of hurt. No doubt a larger engine was in the plan.
Solve for the TPS error. Calibration tests are simple with a decent Volt/Ohm meter you can verify the voltage range it's sending. There is lots-o-info here on drilling out the TPS to effect their range and the calibration proceedure.
Sluggish shift points may be the "same year" unknown computer is programed for a different spec trans. Someone support ECU to trans data exchange if valid. Maybe it doesn't matter.
