Over the summer i planned on getting a new exhaust for my V6 dakota, its a 99 4x4, with a catback already on it, its pretty loud now, but i only have one pipe and i want it to be louder. i DO NOT want it to sound like a rice patti either!! so get back to me on this if u could. im not sure if the $160 is worth it or if it'll sound like it does now.

What kind of muffler are you going to be using? I have a flowmaster 40 series single in duel out system on my truck and I think it sounds great. It is really loud and sounds almost like a v8 at low rpm's. When you hit about 4500 rpm's it will get a lil bit ricey, but I think you will get this with any exhaust system on the v6. You can go to www.exhaustsoundclips.com to get an idea of what this setup will sound like on other vehicles. I dont think they have any clips of this on our engines bit im pretty sure there is a clip of the 40 series on the ford 4.0.

Been up to about 110-115...dunno what I can hit now...with my tires it gets pretty scary at 100+. 105 is what I hit in the video just goofing around one day...tires throw my speedo off bout 5mph at 100.
