Message: Local drag strip had free test and tune yesterday so I took the dakota to see how she would do. I wanted to make more passes changing things each time, but it was too crowded.
STATS:
97 3.9 All stock except:
Custom CAI
Dave's bored V6 throttle body
Pass #1
Reaction.....0.547
I1...............2.665
I2...............7.440
E.T...........11.189
MPH.........61.928
Pass #2
Reaction.....0.513
I1...............2.584
I2...............7.301
E.T...........11.027
MPH.........61.313
On the second run I had the tailgate down, shifted manually from 2nd to D, and I took the air filter off.
Both passes were with a half tank of gas, 170 lb driver, and 130 lb passenger.
This was my first time ever drag racing, so obviously with an improved reaction time, this truck would be in the high 10s.
Some humor as a side note: They were pairing the cars up in no order/class whatsoever. On my first pass I was lined up against a drag car that ran a 5.300 sec. pass at almost 128 mph. I won because he red-lighted, haha.

Message: I forgot to add that at the staging lights I held my left foot on the brake and had the engine revved up to about 1200 rpm. It felt like it spun a little on take off despite the sticky-ness of the track.
toolfan, what mods have you done to your truck?
