Message: As you've already seen from my previous posts, im quite happy with the milage my truck is getting. I was just wondering if I could have an even better gain in both milage and power by purchasing the 48mm F&B TB, and 1.7 HS Roller Rockers.
I have a 2000 Quad Cab 3.9L V6 with the stock 3.55 Gears and 150,000 miles on it. I also have a Superchip, Dynomax 17748, and Cold Air Intake. The F&B TB and 1.7 RR's look like they will cost $600, or maybe less if I find a good used TB. Is this a good investment in the long run for this truck? Any help would be great.

Message: The best thing I did was install Gibson Headers. Way better power around 2,000 RPM, where the engine lives; scary accereration, AND better gas mileage. I average high 19's. With an automatic.
The Flowmaster only let me run 10 MPH faster at the same MPG. No change at low speeds.
Amsoil only made it last 500,000 miles.
Jacobs Pro Street gave it a bit of pep and keeps pistons cleaner.
My theory is if I pick up 1 MPG, savings will pay for it in so many miles.

Message: Yes adding the 48mm F&B and the 1.7's will not
only give you better mileage but are 2 of the best
mods you can do to the V6 and you will gain
between 20 to 30 hp at the wheels
After you do this and the intake side is improved
the headers will give you anothe 10 to 15 rwhp
before improving the intake side the headers
offer no real gains
If you mean a used fastman or F&B yes
The V8 body offers no low end gains and some will
show a loss
The 46mm fastman and the 48mm F&B offer gains
from off idle to redline 15 to 18 average gain
The superchips tunner on your 2000 is also a
great computer upgrade
As long as you drive the same and keep your foot
out of it adding the TB and 1.7's an easy 2 to 3
mpg gain maybe even more but 2 to 3 for sure

Message: Sounds good enough for me. Thanks for the advice Larry. I'll get around to putting on both mods most likely in the next 4 months, so i'll let everyone know how it turns out.
