Subject: engine chatter IP: Logged
Message: when I start my truck up, there is alot of chattering going on under the hood. when I rev the engine its sounds like clapping, Then when I put it in drive I here rattleing. when I start driving it goes away till I come to a stop, then I could here everything again. What do you guys think it could be? Its a 98,3.9, 2wd @ 98500 miles.

Message: Timing chain
Replace and use the tensioner the V6 motor when
machined the cam was .050 lower than the V8 and
the chains develope a rattle with as little as
10 to 20,000 miles and just gets worse
Go to the home page and you will find the part #s
and how to do it not nessasary to degree the cam
thats just for the totle motor head that wants
every ounce of performance out of his motor
