Subject: Superchip power. IP: Logged
Message: Well I just got me a Superchips ($291) off e-bay so that wasn't so bad. What kind of performance can I expect out of my little 3.9 with this thing? Currently I have a Flowmaster Super 40, MSD Blaster Coil, 8mm Taylor Wires, CAI, and a V8 TB. On my to-do list is a Crank underdrive pulley, drop the clutch fan and go electric, 4.10 gears and some crower or harland sharp 1.7's preferably Harlands, and some headers. No more mods til I pay off the loan I took out to get my truck shipped out here though.

Message: Well I have the Superchip on my 2000 V6 Quad Cab, and it is a good investment and will save you money for gas in the long run. As for power, I only noticed a slight increase using the 91+ performance setting. One thing that the superchip does do for speed is that the gear shifts in an automatic are a lot smoother, and the rev limiter can be raised.

Message: superchips are made for stock or lightly modified trucks. v8 tb or new gears are not recomended by superchip. call them for support.

Message: Eh my truck isn't really modified other than what I've posted. Plus I can fix my speedo sith my 32" tires and I'll be going to 33's eventually. I was just wondering what kind of gains I might get... gas would be nice since for some reason it started to go down some before I left for boot camp. What do gears really have to do with the superchips? For an automatic maybe? I have a 5spd so hopefully that wont be a problem.

Message: superchips are designed for stock or slightly modified motors. gears do not affect the operation of the tuner at all. the tuner will unlock the performance from other mods as well. slightly modified means just bolt on performance mods. you could run it with a cam and other internal mods, but if you go that route, then just get a performance pcm or get yours reprogrammed.
GET IN, SIT DOWN, SHUTUP, AND HOLD ON custom 48mm tb, tps @ .768, relocated IAT, 180 t-stat, autolite double platinum, accell 8mm wires, flowmaster 40 delta flow single in/dual out, CAI, superchips tuner

Message: Hey thanks for the info...my truck isn't supposed to be here for a couple weeks so if I'm lucky the tuner will come in before and I can get everything set as soon as I pick up my truck.
