Subject: Harland Sharp rockers IP: Logged
Message: I found a listing for Harland Sharp non adjustable, pedestal mount rockers that are 1.7 ratio aluminum full roller that fit 1992-2003 dodge V8 5.2 liter magnums. I am thinking these should fit the 2000 3.9 that I have but I will just have a few extra as they come in a pack of 16 for the V8. Are these the ones that are recommended for use by J & J ? Larry?, anyone?
Part # CSP-S70037 from Summit Racing.

Message: I asked the very same question in the 1000 dollar thread. Was told aside from the different part number the only difference is the extra rockers.

Message: Get ahold of John Mecades at socaldakota.com he
will give you the best price around $300
For the average guy the harlands are a better way
to go no adjusting or baffle mod needed to install
them they also show .003 more lift than the
crowers
Just find TDC comp stroke drivers side both valves
closed mark on damper at TDC now rotate clockwise
and you will find a V6 mark set that at 0 and
bolt them in
Its better to warm the engine a little first the
lifters will bleed down faster
I do run the crowers but the expensive rev kit
in my strokers with the guide plates
The harland I am running in my 4X4 run great and
very easy to install
The crowers requier adjusting and must be
installed and adjusted correctly if you do not
know how to do this don't use them besides that
they are great rockers

Message: So if I want to install the rockers on an otherwise stock engine, all I'd need are the rockers? Not the guideplates and such in the "full" kit? What about new pushrods?

Message: Sam @ SoCalDakotas doesn't carry the Harland Sharps...only Crowers. I think Larry just got the names mixed up.
John Mercedes runs SoutheastRT.com and he DOES carry Harland Sharps...but his site has been down for quite a while. I'm thinking he may have gotten out of the business. I've dealt with him before on a group buy for cowl induction hoods. He's a really good guy, so if he hasn't gone out of business and his site suddenly comes online again, I highly recommend him.

Message: Summit Racing, $278.00 and they will be available to ship mid April. Hopefully they will come ready to bolt in. I hope I don't need any extra fasteners. I put in my order. Thanks for the instal tips Larry.

John Mecedes
Sam is socal sometimes the old brain slips LOL
He will give you a great price just tell him you
seen them mentioned on the dakotas board and
recomended by Larry from J&J Auto
The stock push rods will work fine just get that
V6 mark at 0 and bolt them in and your done
maybe an hours work
He had a group buy on them a year ago or so on
this board and he is the actual person who got
harland to make these rockers
The summit price is also a very good price I got
a set from them only took 2 weeks

Message: I like them both exellent parts
The harlands are a true bolt in
The crowers requier adjusting and baffle mod to
valve cover to clear the locknuts
The harlands were designed for the V6 V8 mag motor
The crowers are actually designed for the V10
but work well in the mag motors
There are other choices also
mopar and crane both make 1.7's that will fit and
run well in these motors
