Subject: 3.9 2001 Dak wont start IP: Logged
Message: Hello,
Im getting really frustrated here please help if you can. My '01 V6 wont start.
- Has Fuel Pressure constant
- No Spark at Plugs
- Good Battery
- Voltage registering to Crank sensor but not to cam sensor
- No voltage at coil
- Has a aftermarket alarm that was de-activated 2 years ago could this be the prob. (shady work) If so any suggestions???
- P0340 code when i turn the key 3 times
- No code on code reader
- Have reset the PCM
- Changed pick up in Distributor = no luck
_ starts the oddd time but then dies after 5 - 30 min
- Please dont say fuel pump because there is fuel present. I am missing spark somewhere and this is getting really annoying now.
Thanks
Sorry for being rude but again this is really frustrating.

Message: ok no power at the coil... well trace you electrical wires from the coil to where they stop.... now the coil only get power when you turn the key on.... the other wire is only for signal to allow the coil to fire.... possible you can have a broken wire somewhere or have another key component that has gone bad

Message: possible... look around under the dash near the steering column where the ignition switch wires run that the alarm was tied into.... something there could be shuting the ignition part down that allows the truck to run...
