Message: just to be safe i would disconnect the battery and pull out the fuse as well, you never know.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee

Message: There are capacitors to give the large jolt to blow the bags, if you pull the fuses you should be safe.

Message: Hey, guys!
FWIW:
The "impact sensor" that triggers the airbags is part of the "airbag control module". It is located on the floorpan "hump" near the bottom of the dashboard...
Hence, "No worries mate!" when working around the front of the truck!
P.S. The "clockspring" does not directly trigger the airbags; it only works as a wire to feed power to the airbag in the steering wheel...
